Key terms and definitions

Personal data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’).

Identifiable natural person: a person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person.

Platform visitor: a person who visits the Platform. A visitor is not considered a single person but as a browser or a terminal. For example, a single user can access a website via different browsers (such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge), different computers (at work and at home), or different terminals (smartphone and laptop).

Platform visit: a visit to the Platform where at least one page has been loaded.

Cookies: text files that are stored on a user’s computer or mobile device by a website’s server. Each cookie is unique to the web browser. It may contain some personal information such as a unique identifier, website’s domain name, digits, and numbers.

Local storage: refers to data saved directly on your device by the app. It allows Strengthscope to remember your settings, preferences, and recent activity so that features work even without an internet connection. This data never leaves your device unless required for syncing core functionality.

Types of cookies

Please, find the following general information regarding the types of cookies.

There are two types of cookies depending on their lifetime:

• session cookies – these allow us to link your actions during a particular session. They expire each time you close your browser and do not remain on your device afterwards;
• persistent cookies – these are stored on your device between sessions. They allow your preferences or actions to be remembered and will remain on your device until they expire, or you delete them from your cache.

By domain, there are first-party and third-party cookies:

• first-party cookies are set by the domain of the Platform; and
• third-party cookies are set by domains other than the Platform.

The cookies placed on your device may fall into the following categories by their purpose:

• necessary cookies – these are essential for the operation of the Platform and for you to use its features. For example, we may use these cookies to ensure fraud prevention or help you log in to our Platform and complete forms more easily. We also use these types of cookies to ensure that our Platform is displayed correctly on your device. Without these cookies, services you have asked for may not be provided;
• functional cookies – these enable the Platform to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly;
• analytics cookies – these allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Platform. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Platform. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our Platform and will not be able to monitor its performance. All information collected by these cookies is only used to improve how our Platform works;
• advertisement cookies – these are used to provide visitors with customised advertisements based on the pages you have visited previously and to analyse the effectiveness of the ad campaigns.

Our use of cookies

We may use cookies to:

• enable performance of the Platform;
• ensure proper technical operation and stability of the Platform;
• improve our Platform and tailor content, based on our interest in optimizing functionality, performance, and security;
• conversion tracking for marketing purposes.

Certain cookies and similar technologies are essential for our Platform to function properly. These are used, for example, to keep you logged in, remember your session, or store your cookie-consent choice. Because they are necessary for providing the service you request, we process these cookies based on Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR (contract performance). Some essential security-related cookies may also be processed based on our legitimate interest under Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, such as preventing abuse or ensuring that the Platform works reliably.

Other cookies – those used to measure Platform traffic, improve performance, personalise content, or understand how visitors interact with the Platform – are not strictly necessary. These include analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics cookies that store page views, session IDs, time of visit, and unique analytics identifiers), Hotjar cookies that analyse user behaviour, and Intercom cookies that assign anonymous device or user IDs to improve support services. Because these tools help us optimise functionality, performance, and security, but are not required for basic operation, we use them based on your consent in line with Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive rules.

Managing your cookie preferences

Only essential cookies are activated automatically. All other categories (e.g., analytics, performance, HubSpot, Intercom, and similar tracking technologies) remain deactivated until you provide your consent by selecting the corresponding options in our cookie tool.

The easiest way to change your choices regarding the use of cookies on the Platform is to use our cookie consent tool. You can access the cookie consent tool anytime from the ‘Consent Preferences’ link at the bottom left corner of the Platform interface. The consent tool allows you to control the use of various types of cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled. Unless you choose otherwise, we can store and process only those cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Platform. If you don’t want to be tracked by other types of cookies, you can refuse to give your initial consent or opt out later. You can check the specific types of cookies in the pop-up window shown during your first visit to the Platform.

By clicking “Accept”, you agree to the use of cookies for all purposes mentioned above.
